Purposeful SP strives to make our website compliant and accessible regardless of a visitors’ abilities or disabilities. If you have a request for accommodation or concern, please let us know. All requests for accommodation, grievances, or complaints must follow the below procedure.

Public Access Grievance Procedure

In the event you are not able to access a page, content, or other public feature of this website, submit a request for accommodation either to the address or email address listed below.

The steps of Purposeful SP’s ADA accommodation requests and grievance procedure are set forth below. Requests for accommodation will be responded to and accommodations made according to the requirements of the ADA. Use of this website shall constitute your agreement to the below procedure and failure to inform us of your request for accommodation through the below procedure or other failure to follow the below procedure shall be construed as you never having requested an accommodation or having accepted the proposed accommodation as sufficient.

Step 1. Any request for accommodation or grievance must begin with this step. The request or grievance should be filed in writing and must contain the following information:

  • The name, address, and phone number of the person filing the grievance;

  • The name, address, and phone number of the person alleging the ADA violation, if other than the person filing the grievance;

  • The name and/or URL of the Purposeful SP web page, service, program or facility allegedly in violation. Website pages alleged to be in violation must be accompanied by the title of the page(s) and the full URL(s) of the alleged page(s) in violation.

  • A description of the alleged violation and the remedy sought;

  • Information regarding whether a complaint has been filed with the Department of Justice or other federal or state agency or court.

  • If a complaint has been filed, the name of the agency or court where the complaint was filed, the date the complaint was filed, and the name, address and telephone number of a contact person with the agency with which the complaint was filed.

Step 2. The grievance will be either responded to or acknowledged within 12 working days of receipt.

Step 3. Within 60 calendar days of receipt, Purposeful SP will complete the investigation necessary to determine the validity of the alleged violation and either make the proposed remedy or offer an alternative remedy. If appropriate, Purposeful SP will arrange to meet with the grievant to discuss the matter and attempt to reach an informal resolution of the grievance. Any informal resolution of the grievance shall be documented and filed.

Step 4. If an informal resolution of the grievance is not reached in Step 3, a written determination as to the validity of the complaint and description of the Purposeful SP accommodation, if appropriate, shall be communicated to the grievant within 90 calendar days of receipt of the grievance, unless the Purposeful SP ADA officer approves additional time for further consideration of the grievance. Any authorized extension of time will be communicated to the grievant.

Step 6. Within 30 calendar days of mailing of Purposeful SP determination letter, the grievant must respond including an explanation why the remedy, if proposed, does not full their accommodation needs. This response must also include the grievant’s alternative recommended remedy of the violation.

Every Person is Unique

The resolution of any specific grievance will require consideration of varying circumstances, such as the specific nature of the disability; the nature of the access to services, programs, or pages at issue; the essential eligibility requirements for participation; the health and safety of others; and the degree to which an accommodation would constitute a fundamental alteration to the program, service, or page, or cause an undue hardship to Purposeful SP. Accordingly, the resolution by Purposeful SP of any one grievance does not constitute a precedent upon which Purposeful SP is bound or upon which other complaining parties may rely.
